I think the Father Brown mysteries are just his ticket. I recall reading them in high school. They are really excellent.
Chesterton also has done some amazing biographies of Sts. Thomas Aquinas and Francis of Assisi. They are so amazing in that he managed to capture the “whole essence” of the saint’s whole being in 200 pages and not in 3 volumes!
The classic, of course, is Orthodoxy. I have friends who make a point of reading it every 5 years.
If you get EWTN in your area, Dale Ahlquist, President of the Chesterton Society, has a show on each Sunday evening at 9:00. It is one I hardly ever miss.
