Not only are we indebted to Calvin for his Godly, grace-infused theological understanding, but as the man who gave us the basis for our own system of checks and balances in a representative government.
I realize those who adhere to an archaic, medieval form of church hierarchy may not understand just how much Calvin contributed to our own government, but it's worth trying to encourage you to read him.
Call me an optimist.
I will not read "Institutes of the Christian Religion" or "Dianetics" or "The Accumulated Teachings of Sun Yung Moon" or "The Autobiography of Carrottop" for that matter.
