The Difference Between Religion And Christianity In America

Posted on 08/20/2006 6:32:59 PM PDT by A Blind Man Who Can See

When Jesus was living, he did not align himself with the Jewish religious parties, then called Saducees and Pharisees, nor the secular authorities: King Herod and Rome. He obeyed the Mosaic law and even paid tribute. He told Nicodemus, an old man that he had to be born again to be saved. Jesus meant born spiritually. Jesus preached that this spiritual new baby would be then, dead to the world, living in the world but not of it. He pointed out that worrying about the future was not what a Christian would be doing because tomorrow has enough worries to itself. Jesus had a couple main commandments and those are the backbone of Chrisitanity: love one another, that is referring to fellow Christians, and love your enemy. Do good to those that despitefully use you. Much has been said about the issue of marriage ammendment for gays and lesbians, and for this topic that will only be used to illustrate what Jesus said. Jesus told the crowd when they were about to stone a woman, those of you without sin throw the first stone. Everyone left, and Jesus told the woman, go, sin no more. Getting back to Family tradtions, that is marriage of a man to a woman, in this case as a Religious doctrine, what did Jesus have to say? He said, that except that a man or a woman leave their marriage for a bill of divorcement, for fornication, those that leave the marriage and remarry are adulterers. Whatever God joined together, let NO MAN put asunder. This of course includes annulments. Religious leaders have said that the U.S. should murder foreign leaders. Jesus said Satan was a liar and murderer from the beginning. Religious leaders have disobeyed the laws, encouraging illegal immigrants, shielding clergy that are child molesters, and taking tax breaks turning their temples into dens for money changers. Satan took Jesus to the top of a mountain and told Him, bow before me and everything you see will be yours. Clergy who are in league with the worldly establishments, are in league with the owner, Satan. Jesus told Satan, thou shalt not worship anone but the Lord Almighty. Praying to anything, idols, statues, icons, is a violation of the ten commandments that Jesus said are in place until all is fulfilled. He told a man not to call him ABBA, that is father, only the Father in heaven! To confess your sins to the Father in secret, not to a priest, when Jesus was a Priest/King after the order of Melchidezek, the sacrificiallamb that iliminated the need for priests: Levites who spred the blood of lambs annually for Israels' sins. Paul clearly emaphasized that a Bishop should be the husband of one wife! The saints in Pauls' days were living people, not perfect and certainly canonization is a doctrine of man, not from God. To wrap this up, the shootings at Colombine shed innocent blood, but one that really fits this topic is the young lady who would not denounce her Lord, Jesus Christ, and became a martyr for Christ. Idon't believe there is much chance of mainstream Americas' religious cults to become martyrs for Christ. They bless the murder of other humans, purportedly to bring about the coming of Christ. But when the man was in front of the judgement seat, he said Lord, Lord, remember me? The Lord, spat him out like luke warm water, and said, I never knew you!

I once had a priest tell me that early Catholicism was not so much about religion as it was about "crowd control". If you trace the history of it you find he was right.

Actually Jesus' two main commandments were love God and love one another:

Mixing up our scriptures are we?

Amazing how you combine them into a single event.

My favorite is this gem:

"Religious leaders have said that the U.S. should murder foreign leaders."

Mr. Blind, The world through your eyes is scary. You know way more then the Pope. Are you infallible in these teachings of yours? You condemn people by telling a story about how Christ forgave a person caught in adultery. Condemnation through an example of forgiveness ... glad you could join the "Religious Leaders."

Does this make your teachings by definition bad because you stand before others and condemn people. Or maybe you should put away your stones and walk off.

Didn't that phrase finish with him saying" on these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets"???

So what is the need of "religion"? To answer the question, "What does it MEAN to love God and to love others." All the questions we face in the modern world come down to these two meanings. And that's why Jesus built His Church.

you know tht Pat Robertson said that it would be expedient to murder Mr. Chavez.
Satan was a liar and murderer from the beginning, forgive
I have to forgive, but you know a fruit by its tree, my friend and bad fruit doesn't grow on good trees, no matter how much I forgive.
Do you think its seeming for a preacher to preach murder?
I am sorry you were offended.

They bless the murder of other humans, purportedly to bring about the coming of Christ.

Cite? Or do you just get off on bearing false witness?
