Thoughts on "Another Cry of the Orthodox" and GC2006

Andy at "All Too Common" has written a good post titled Another Cry of the Orthodox where he pleads to the bishops of the Anglican Communion Network to leave ECUSA:

A while back I wrote you an Open Letter explaining, from a layperson’s perspective, what are the likely consequences of remaining within the jurisdiction of ECUSA (TEC).

So again, I am pleading with you to make your stand, not in ECUSA (TEC), but in opposition to her: to leave her to perish in her filth and let the ruler of this world have his way with his new bride. ECUSA (TEC) has not only voted in a revisionist woman to the office of PB who openly supports the full inclusion of gays and lesbians, but has also voted against A161 and passed a resolution that is not adequate, essentially giving no answer to the call of regret and repentance the Windsor Report called for. It voted in someone that much of the Communion does not accept as a valid bishop. We must continue to trust in the love and the forgiveness of Jesus Christ. We must continue to call Him Bridegroom and continue to be a part of His bride, not ECUSA the new bride of Satan. A bride cannot have two husbands and therefore I cannot stay in an institution who has divorced one bridegroom and married another. Neither should other orthodox Anglicans.
I think Andy is pretty much "on target" here and if the bishops of the ACN are at all serious about fleeing heresy they should take this path. There cannot be two separate and distinct "religions" in one church if that church is to be any part of the true Church, and GenCon2006 has made it even clearer that we have two separate religions in ECUSA.

My thoughts on this: I believe the best chance for Anglicanism in the United States is for the three dioceses that have asked for Alternative Primatial Oversight (Ft. Worth, San Joaquin, and Quincy) to work towards forming their own Province and, as these dioceses have remained steadfast against "WO", I would also propose that they and the Continuing Anglican Churches (ACC, APCK, and others) work towards unity as well. I believe such a resulting body might well have enough size and vigor to infuse new life into Anglicanism in North America, and there could be a relative unity of faith and practice in this new province. Where evangelicals would fit in with such a group is unclear to me; the Reformed Episcopal Church and AMiA might be alternatives should this proposed Province be too Anglo-Catholic for some. But I do think Andy is correct in his plea and I really hope and pray the bishops of the ACN will heed it.

Many regions of this nation have survived having one or more "overlay" area codes covering the same territory.

It's just back to the good old days of Arian & orthodox or Pope and antiPope.
