Alright. The Lamanites are the principle ancestors of the American Indians. I believe that.

A Lamanite is not the definition of a race, but a civilization as defined in post #165. That civilization included who knows how many of what kind of blood lines.
Over a couple of thousand years (2600 years approximately) of mixing people around what do you end up with?
Oh, I didn't understand that Lamanites are not a race but a civilization.
Wonder of wonders what a little DNA evidence and twenty years will wrought on the Latter Day Saint teachings.
I wonder if all the lamanite kids that came to live in our nice mormon homes back in the 60's and 70's were aware that they were part of the large ancient American civilization and not Navajo Lamanites as we were taught back then.
But hindsight is 20/20.
Please make a point to all this or just shut up and stop trying to persecute Mormons for whatever axe you have to grind against us.
Another thing, I thought the word "ancestor" denoted the passing of DNA.
I know I contain the DNA of my ancestors and not their civilization. I would hardly say I'm a descendant of the druid/ galic/ celt/ norman civilizations even though their blood flows through my veins.

I guess you COULD say that after living together as a group for almost 3000 years that one would also be considered a 'race'...

Its uncalled for to bash people's church whether they are Jewish, Catholic, Methodist, Baptist or whatever.
