"It has become increasingly difficult for me to be an official representative of a Church which does not accept and value my sexual orientation," Uhhh... well an "offical representative of the Church" will tell you that you can keep it in your pants.
For the "loving relationship" you are looking for, you'll have to turn in that collar, pallie.

The Bishop added: "I admire (Gale) for having the courage to say, 'This is who I am.'"How touching.

His final sermon:
"Hi kids! You know what a great guy I am, right? Well, guess what? I'm a practicing homo! It's okay!"

The pastor of Holy Saviour Catholic parish in Marathon, Ontario, Rev. Scott Gale, announced to his parishioners during Masses on New Years day that he is a homosexual and can no longer stand the Church's requirement that he remain celibate.
News Flash. Heterosexual Roman Catholic priests are required to be celibate.
In fact the only people the Roman Catholic Church says it's OK to have sexual relations are married heterosexual couples and (gasp) only with each other. So, if you are not married to a person of the opposite sex, you are not supposed to be having a "loving relationship" (barf euphemism) with anyone. Which, Fr. Gale, is why I, an unmarried heterosexual female Roman Catholic, am not sleeping with anyone except the cat.
Jesus did it, Mary did it, with Their help you can do it also. Start living up to your confirmational vows, even if you can't live up to Holy Orders. (btw, how does the capitalization for God, when using pronouns, work in plural - Their or their?)

Rev. Gale said then that he hoped for a "re-examination of the Church's attitudes regarding homosexuality..."Unless we re-write Mt 19: 1-12 that seems outside the realm of possibility.

Well, there's one good thing. At least he left. One good scandal and he's gone now.
Imagine the alternative scenario: he makes the announcement, determines to stay (moves his boyfriend in the rectory), (not likely) he is suspended, and then takes the matter to the Canadian Human Rights Court. Considering their past record, they'd rule against the Church...
Then what?
