It is very incorrect at its core. That's the trouble with it. As humans, we are not divine. Paul calls what we are, quickened. Man venerates so-called saints for it is a thing that seems good to him, it is not a revelation from God. In fact, it's quite ridiculous, for even the angels cautioned the prophets not to venerate them, for they are the same as us in that regard.

The Gospel teaches us to give everything to the poor and follow Christ;; to become perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect. If you have a problem with the call for sainthood, you have a problem with the Gospel.
