Well, I pulled up the one on Common Prayer and Sacraments. Yes, it is long and the phrasing is turgid, by our standards. What it more resembles to my eye than a homily is a monograph on the wider subject, with references and citations. So I would call it very useful indeed, though for the clergyman more than for the congregation.
