Priest hurt in mock gay marriage

A PRIEST was slightly hurt at Paris's famed Notre-Dame Cathedral when clashes broke out between church security personnel and gay rights activists who performed a mock marriage of two lesbians.

About 20 members of the group Act Up entered the cathedral and proceeded to perform the mock marriage in front of baffled tourists and worshippers, according to an AFP correspondent at the scene. One activist - dressed as a priest - pronounded the two women married, while other Act Up members chanted: "Pope Benedict XVI, homophobe, AIDS accomplice."

With security officials in pursit, they then fled the cathedral, but clashes broke out outside the Paris landmark, during which Monsignor Patrick Jacquin suffered a minor neck injury. He was treated at the scene.

The demonstration marked the first anniversary of France's first gay wedding, performed last year in the Bordeaux suburb of Begles.

The union of two men has since been declared null and void by the French courts.

Monsignor Jacquin said: "They are savages. I was pushed to the ground and trampled, kicked in the neck.

"It's a scandal for these people to lash out at me and the Pope."

He said he was considering filing charges against what he called "barbaric, odious and scandalous acts".

The president of Act Up Paris, Jerome Martin - who participated in today's demonstration - said he had also been hit in the melee, but claimed the priest had exaggerated the actual events.

"We did not want to be aggressive with respect to the worshippers... the aggressive security detail wanted to rip up our banner," he said.

Earlier, the Act Up activists demonstrated outside Paris city hall, denouncing homophobia and calling for equal rights for gays and lesbians.

I see that the sodomites are out there winning the "hearts and minds" of the people again. Of course, the next minute, they'll angrily want to know why they aren't viewed as "normal".

"Act Up" is a militant homosexual group. This is not the first time they've done something like this. They caused a disturbance during a mass at St Patrick's Cathedral, NYC, a number of years ago. Many of them desecrated the Eucharist.

These perverts couldn't be worse if they were satanists; and maybe they are. There should be absolute outrage expressed by all Catholics, and their Shepherds, on this example of sodomites IN NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL. There should be, but I doubt there will....
It is shameful, and disgusting that there would be any tolerance of this crime against the Church and humanity.

I think they are minions of satan, whether they are willing ones or pawns, who knows?

The bishop should consecrate them to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, so that they may be given the grace of conversion. He should do this publicly with all the media in attendance.

First I've heard about the French not allowing this type of marriage.

Do they really get it?

How very true, and here I am always thinking of the punitive actions that Bishops should take.
What is the worse thing that Bishop(s) could do? Silence in the face of this affront to Our Lord and our beliefs. It allows evil to prevail and the sheep to scatter.

didn't ACT-UP do something similar in Montreal in the 90s as well? I remember reading about a church desecration in Montreal, during Mass, but it was many years ago and I've forgotten the details. I honeymooned in Montreal and visited many churches there, so I wonder which one it was. Anyhow what happened at Notre Dame is just disgusting. These perverts are lucky they insulted Catholics in a country that is so anti-Christian....imagine if ACT-UP tried this sort of nonsense inside a French mosque!

That sounds familiar, I think it involved an international Pro life group sponsored demonstration ,that ACT UP decided to protest. There may have been a Catholic Mass involved.

And the on-lookers did nothing?

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

Disgusting. Why are the homosexual activists allowed to enter the cathedral and perform criminal acts? The priest is THINKING of filing charges? Where are the cops? Shouldn't those perps be arrested whether the priest files charges or not?

Just so you know, one of the founders of ACT-UP admitted that the original crew read Mein Kampf for inspiration and tactics. So the term "homo-nazis" is apropos in more ways than one.

Let me know if you want on/off this pinglist.

Yes, but their despicable actions never seem to make it on the evening news. I wouldn't be surprised if the article above is actually soften what happened. I bet the priest actually was trampled and kicked.

I have had the misfortune of being in San Francisco during one of their myriad Gay Parades. What I saw was nothing was utterly disgusting. The monsignor is right. These people are savages.

Oh, there was trash alright... The whole thing was surreal -- like some kind of debauched bacchanalia in the streets. In any other city, these people would have been arrested for indecent exposure. They were literally having an orgy right there in the streets.

Had it been their fight, they probably would've surrendered…
