It's a slow news day :-), so I thought we could have some fun exploring where the liberal element of the US Catholic Church has led its sheeples. Here in the east, Fr. Dr. Vosko has blended the Enneagram into many of his wreckovated churches and cathedrals.
And most of the people I knew in the New Age were fallen-away Catholics.
Did a google search on new age catholics and discovered this web site.
"On the subject of the Return of Christ Alice Bailey states that there is a growing belief 'that the Christ is in us, as He was in the Master Jesus, and this belief will alter world affairs and mankind's entire attitude to life'.92 Jesus of Nazareth is 'the Master Jesus' who was 'Christed' during his lifetime - just as we are! He is just an ordinary human being who needed to work through his own karmic cycle in endless incarnations."
Oh brother! That statement comes from:
Is this an issue in your diocese?

It is obvious to me that we are dealing with two totally different incompatible churches here, the Church which Christ established and something which cannot even be called Christian, yet the parishes and dioceses which tout this nonsense are "in good standing" with the Catholic church. I hope and pray that Benedict XVI will have the fortitude to say, "no, you are not in good standing and you will not be considered Catholic until you get in line with Church teaching."
How long oh Lord?

Is the New Age infiltrating the church? Hmmm.. a picture is worth a thousand words isn't it? Out for walk yesterday and came across the strangest transformation-I had to take a pic. The Church of the Holy Trinity here somehow became "Adhi Shakti's Kundalini Meditation Space for Earth Healing."

As a student of reiki, the whole thing about spirit guides is news to me. It must depend on one's teacher. I have not prayed to any spirit guide at any time.

I've met many fallen away Catholics in the new age movement. I was one myself and I found that one can be a Roman Catholic and be deeply and religious which always meant spiritual to me. A lot of ex-catholics love the 'new age' because it gives them license for their base desires, etc. There's no one judging your behavior as wrong.

First off, the Enneagram is being used in almost every Catholic spiritual direction and retreat house in America. It's now the main tool for teaching people how to do spiritual direction. Well that's bullsh*t. I was recently on a Carmelite retreat at a Franciscan retreat house and it was extremely orthodox. Friend of mine went to Gethsemane, same thing.

" This all came from the time when people started believing in Darwinism. We didn't need God anymore" The idea that Darwinism is opposed to Christian faith is the product of private interpretation. New Ageism is opposed to the Catholic faith but I think it's just another form of private interpretation.

What a goofy article.
Who can verify what some nuns may or may not be doing in San Diego by the Mexican border? All I know is there is no new age anything in Catholic Churches by me in California.

There is nothing more annoying than reading about someone who is so unsure of their own faith that they have to bash other people's beliefs.
Moira, you are a very negative person, no to mention quite a "Know- It- All." Here is a quote that I think you should carefully consider when it comes to different beliefs and life in general " A Wise Man Knows He Knows Nothing At All." Good Luck!
