The Winner of the Nasty Chasuble Contest!
Fireside Chat with the Rector ^ | 12/27/2004 | Vicar

Posted on 12/28/2004 9:09:56 AM PST by sionnsar

Yes, folks, the time has come to announce a winner! At the eleventh hour, Father M. (he wishes to remain somewhat anonymous) from Folkestone on the Kentish coast sent us photos of this absolutely nasty chasuble. It was apparently procured in the United States, as it sports some symbols of the American church, but that is just NOT an excuse for its nastiness!

Father M. will be recieving a signed original "Father Jolly" print, and will have a candle lit for him in the Chapel of St. Knorr of the West Saxons. I wish to thank everyone who contributed photos, and in the next few days I will be running each of the entries which took first, second and third-place honors, as well as the honourable mention.

Thank you again to Father M. for his hard work and dedication to unearthing true nastiness in the Church! Keep it up! And please notify us when you will be able to post photos from the chasuble-burning that you are scheduling for next week!

Traditional Anglican ping, continued in memory of its founder Arlin Adams.

FReepmail sionnsar if you want on or off this list.
This is a moderately high-volume ping list (typically 3-7 pings/day).

I think even God Himself might consider that to be at least tacky.

Re: "It was apparently procured in the United States, as it sports some symbols of the American church, but that is just NOT an excuse for its nastiness!"

This vestment alone has set back Anglo-American relations 150 years. It is a wonder English people even speak to us.

LOL. I think we'll be all right if there are no protests over here at its burning.

Maybe the revisionist can work the burning into their new Druid Rite? Hopefully they will not consider that sacrilegious and insist on the burning of a Traditional vestment while wearing that ugly thing. Or is all this moot clothing in general being optional?
