To: old and tired
I think some of the folks here on FR need to get their heads out of the sand and take a look at these new lay run parochial schools. By and large, I think they would be surprised and pleased with what they find.

I agree. There's a waiting list for Catholic schools around here, and that list includes Protestants and even a couple of Jewish families.

Our parish will not wait list non-Christians. Only out of parish Catholics and local Protestant children. We will not take unbaptized children at all. So, we don't have any Jewish, Muslim, or Hindi children. I'm pretty sure that's a parish policy, not diocesan.

We don't have many Protestant kids in our parish school. I know of one Protestant boy who graduated here a few years back was told by the public school he needed either Ritalin or special ed. His mother was able to put him in the Catholic schools where it turns out he needed neither.
