As a member of the Militia Immaculata, I am encouraged to give out Miraculous Medals. The MI's founder, St. Maximilian Kolbe, described the Medal as a "spiritual bullet" against the enemies of man's salvation. When I first started doing this, I found it hard to do (I was with an MI group who handed a bunch out at the March for Life, and when I was asked to give one to an Orthodox bishop, I was reluctant to). But it gets easier. When I was in Walsingham, England on the Feast of Our Lady's Nativity, I saw a girl, about 12 or 13, dressed in clothing that exposed her mid-riff. I was saddened to see her dressed that way at a Catholic shrine. I had some Miraculous Medals in my bookbag, so I walked up to her and gave her 5, one for each of her family members and asked her to give the Medals to them.

FYI, there is a great on-line Rosary shop where you can buy pre-made rosaries, custom desing your own for them to build, or buy kits to make them yourself. It is called The Rosary Shop and the url is: http://www.rosaryshop.com/

I've ordered several from them for myself or as gifts for friends. My experience is that they usually deliver earlier than they say, their work is very high quality, and the materials, whether wood, semi-precious stones (their leopard jaspar is my favorite, it is very nice), precious stones, or whatever, is excellent. There is a huge variety of bead types, centers, crucifixes to choose from. They also have a preview feature to give you an idea of what it will look like before you click to purchase.

Thought I'd pass this on. Please let other Catholic FReepers know about this fine place to buy Rosaries.
