"How can the embrace he extends to all religions still appear credible when he tries to exclude six Catholic bishops from communion with the Church? . . . What credibility is to be ascribed to the Peace Congresses held jointly with the worlds major religions when a religious war has broken out in his own ranks?"
Reverend Father Franz Schmidberger makes plenty of sense.
It's a great pity he hasn't been consecrated a bishop.
In general, the SSPXers probably wouldn't ask the ecumenist Cardinal Cassidy for the time of day. But when he says something that they like, something which contradicts every other statement of the Apostolic See on the matter, including multiple statements of the Ecclesia Dei Commission, an Apostolic Letter of the Pope and a decree of the Congregation for Bishops, suddenly he becomes a great authority. How about some consistency?
Derksen seems unaware that the Pope himself wrote a letter to Msgr. Lefebvre before the consecrations, warning him that they would be a schismatic act.
