Thank you so much! :)

Des is in charge of all that stuff. We've discussed SOME elements of required garb. I suspect that a mantilla will be fine in lieu of a hat, but Des is IN CHARGE of the Ladies' Auxiliary/Finger Food gang.

Of course you are welcome to join the Auxiliary, Darling.
Have you a hat? If not, I have plenty.

BTW, please see Adoremus for some examples of the new ICEL translation. I posted an article by Mrs. Hitchcock. I like what I see.

Don't like wearing hats? Really, I don't either. It feels like having a lid.

I have fair skin, so in the sun, I try to wear wide brimmed hats during the summer.
Yes, it messes up your hair, but if you leave it on, no one knows.
Mantillas are perfectly acceptable as an alternative.

BTW, you might want to look at Desdemona's post re: the new translation, shotgunned by your buddy from merry old England...
Bishops Receive...Seems as though he forgot to translate about 1/2 the Confiteor and is still all VERY sensitive about "sexist" language.
Hmmmm.
Perhaps you should write him a note and invite him to the next Committee of the Whole Meeting of the TTGC. Pinging Ministers...

But when they learn that they have a chance to flee from their kumbaya parishes and once again participate in the traditional Catholic faith and liturgy, many will want to take advantage of the opportunity. Count me in among those (recent, since '99) Catholics who wish to find, participate, and indulge in the traditional reverence of the old Mass.

Splendid idea! I'll assist Des' with her specialty cucumber sandwiches; if there's any research to be done ahead of time... I'm on it! FReegards.
