strela: Ah, I understand now. My name is the first on your list of those you think should be banned.
No, not really. I confess I got lucky when you walked into my post after you posted crap earlier today. You are a fortuitous example of the inconsistency I was describing. Thanks.

Well, at least you don't have promotional items on your home page. Correct.

I confess I got lucky when you walked into my post after you posted crap earlier today. So, you have some sort of plan to advocate the banning of posters with whom you disagree. IOW, you're a troll and a controlling passive-aggressive crybaby.
Well I'm still here, FRiend. So I guess your plan needs some work.

Less chat, more news and serious political analysis, is my interest. What do you consider "political analysis"? Is it constitutional debate? Is it current events? Is it political campaigns? Is it church-state? The drug-war? The war on terrorism? All of these things are debated daily around here. There are times when one event takes over i.e. the California election and we will be going into the presidential election soon so the focus will probably be there. I have a suggestion, go to LP or any of the other sites and see if you have the member base that allows for the incredible range of "political analysis" that you say is lacking here.

This thread was posted in Breaking News and left there for about an hour or so. What double standard? That reminds me of a thread I posted the other day called, "Rush Opens Show: Not talking".
The Admin Mod deletes it to the general interest cornfield.
I FRmailed asking what gives, and the AM says, "You didn't provide a source".!!!
Huh? What the ....!
LOL!

What I was pointing out was some of the posters on THIS thread are some of the biggest bullies on FR. Who?

I have a suggestion, go to LP or any of the other sites and see if you have the member base that allows for the incredible range of "political analysis" that you say is lacking here. That really isn't the point. What has happened to the quality of the political analysis that used to be such a prominent feature of FR? Do you think it's the same as it was two years ago?

There must be a LOT of busted web browsers out there if http://www.freerepublic.com is the only URL available thereon to surf.

It's a big world out there on the Internet.
Amen to that. I notice a lot of folks sitting on there butts here lately and not posting much if anything in the way of articles and such but are all too willing to snipe away at others that support conservative causes and are proud to do so. Rather, they sit and smugly pass judgement and cast aspersions and belittle others beliefs in irrelevant things like principles and consistency in one's beliefs.
I guess it is just that evolution thing working its way thru this place or maybe its devolution. Some seem to have grown quite content being their own forms of moderators by ripping others a new one because we aren't as inclusive of moderate values and such.
It is so easy to destroy but very hard to construct a "perfect" thing or strive to maintain a conservative focus, as a result. Kudos to you and the AMs, Jim, for taking your own best shot at it.
To those of you who want perfection or things your way so badly, maybe you are in the wrong place is what I would offer when you act as you do and say what you say and pay no personal consequence for either.
I could give out lists , and Lord knows, have hit the abuse button enough times ,myself, to no avail. I didn't get a sore neck from shaking my head as the ones I thought were in need of some time in the cooler were left to continue their own ,what I saw as, suspect, mean-spirited, questionable and clique-like behavior.
Yup. It is a big internet out there. I have a feeling that is where some less inclined to speak up for fear of being lambasted by moderate forces that would claim FR as their own have gone, and we are diminished as a whole because of that, imo.
To: Jim Robinson
Well, bann me if you must. But, I am going to say that you have come a long way from your stated missive in starting FR.
You have become more wrapped up in personalities of your posters instead of following your goal.
Do you really want to become like Prodigy?
To: Joe Hadenuf
Funny how so many people around here complain that there are way too many chat and vanity, ie, non-news-sourced threads, until they decide to post one of their own.

You are a fortuitous example of the inconsistency I was describing. So hitting abuse and getting the post deleted was not enough for you? Saber you are VERY passive-aggressive. It is an effective tactic when playing victim.

I have only hit the abuse button once since I started posting here. Do you really think I'm going to name names?
I do what most normal people do. I avoid rude, unpleasant people.

For the record, I did NOT advocate political violence against any politician in that post. I advocated the killing of a snake. However, due to unclear terminology on my part, a reasonable person could have construed the post as being threatening in nature to a politician, thus it was pulled. I apologized on that thread for posting it.
You said "this wall eyed" snake." You were referring to McClintock, no question about it, and advocating, even if in jest, violence gainst him. I'm torn though... Should anyone with your gift for understatement ever be banned? Funny thing is, my #847 quoting you got pulled. Ain't that priceless? That's the cost of inconsistency.

Next time I post a thread regarding *Rush's* show, I'll make sure to put *Rush* for the source, to eliminate any confusion on the AMs part...

Funny thing is, my #847 quoting you got pulled. Ain't that priceless? I find it even more interesting that you saved that material before it got pulled by the mods. It couldn't have been up too long. Do you save all of my posts, Saber? Are you making a dossier on me?
