Vicodin abuse does cause hearing loss, but the thing I keep coming back to in these conversations is that the House Clinic specifically said in a press conference back at the time that Rush's hearing loss was *not* caused my medication abuse. Surely they had gotten to the bottom of things and done tons of tests, etc., and I can't imagine an institution of such repute would lie and cause themselves a huge ethical headache.

I agree. It was just the first time that I had heard the "speculation angle" in the news. Not the last I assume.
