Franken's point was that that was Hume's point, I think.

BINGO! You win the prize - this is simply an excuse to call FNC and conservatives *EVIL*.

What is infuriating is that its the opposite of the truth - Franken is the one trivializing the Iraq situation and using the troops as pawns to make some partisan political point. Really, he could care less about accurate analogous stats. If he did, he would be politely making as a case on that score.(the difference between total casuatlies and casualty rate is in error, but that is NOT "shameless", that's just different way of looking at it.)

He didnt. he wasnt polite he was incendiary. He calls Hume "shameless" when all Hume was trying to do was put some persepctive in to things, pointing out that Iraqi "quagmire" overall has not much greater mortality than general crime in the US in some cities. 89 combat deaths since may 1. I am sure DC had more murders than that.

And for the "View" Liberal to say "nasty" is itself quite nasty.
