Lets look at history. Probably there is no better leader, and pursuader to walk the earth than Jesus Christ. He managed to convince a few people that he was not only right but that he was God. He even had perfect press when he entered Jursalem.

But when it was put to a vote, the people hadn't really moved that far from their personal posistions. That takes time. So the vote went for Barabas over Jesus.

This is an apt example and I will answer your challenge. Jesus had a large following, the apex of which was when He triumphantly entered Jerusalem. However, He was a threat to the political powers of Israel. You see, it wasn't that they liked Rome, it was that Rome allowed them to rule so as to keep the peace. If Jesus stirred up trouble, Rome could come and do away with the self-rule (and them personally). It was the chief priests and the pharisees who put Jesus on trial and handed Him over to Roman authority. It was their followers who called for Barrabas.

This is important... they made a political calculation to cut Jesus loose to save their own skins.

Thank you for a great lead in to a lesson on this recall election.

If the majority was still for him, they would have stopped it. Not even his disciples followed him because they didn't get it yet.

The same is true for CA voters. They don't get it yet.

Well, that little bit of blasphemy sure made your point.
