What is happening is horrific and barbaric and it is surely difficult for us all to deal with outside of the thread. I have personally been ill and not eaten because of the horrors of this killing of people who are disabled. I never knew of these horrors until a few weeks ago and I am still trying to accept that human beings are doing this to others.
We need Pegita to come and help us with prayers, perhaps.
I think the evil in this is enormous. I often feel like I want to cloak myself in something for protection because of the evil in these cases.
Certainly being here and caring about Terri has taken a toll on us all emotionally, and we are probably all responding with defensive mechanisms to keep our sanity.
We should, though, try to follow Christ and not be unkind to all other fellow human beings, imo. Many FR Christians have forgiven me for posts I have made in which I crossed the line. Let's all try to love one another as Christ loves us.
Heavenly Father, we confess that heartlessness is something we don't understand, but we ask that You would give us an acceptance of that fact, for then we are free to see the enemy as he is ... hateful and bent on our destruction. The enemy lives outside the camp ... he cannot enter because You and Your children are camped within, but he can attack in overwhelming numbers, and he can be vicious and vocal, and we can become weary, but he cannot win. Strengthen us, I pray, for there is much yet to do. Show us that in these greatest of trials, there can be balance. If we cannot give food to Terri, do we have food for a neighbor? If we cannot be alongside the Schlinders, can we comfort another? If our heart aches because there are those bent on proclaiming death, can we pray that those deadly hearts be changed? If we don't know what to do, will You show us the way?
You promise us wisdom if we ask for it ... You promise to be with us always ... You tell us that everything should come before You, in prayer and supplication ... You tell us that You will grant unto us peace that passes all understanding. We claim these promises, Lord ... and we continue to come before You on behalf of Terri ... we're coming again and again before the judge, asking that he relent and grant her life. Use this time, and use these efforts as an example of what can be done when Your people are awakened ... grant victory, in the name of Jesus, I pray ...
Lord, there has been fasting and prayer, and there has been sickness and deepest despair because of the cruelty of those outside of Christ ... anoint anew those of broken hearts, that they might rise up, refreshed and renewed, to continue uttering the names of the helpless before the Throne of Grace. Sprinkle our days with an awareness of your blessings ... intermingle them with our heartaches, that we might know that You are with us in the midst of all ... please, Jesus, make it so ... Amen ...
