Looks like McC could win big either way.

Brother, you evidently don't work in the real world. In the real world, people look for revenge. With AS as governor, do you think GWB will make a couple of trips out West to try and lock up Calif's 54 electoral votes? Do you think ANYBODY at any level with the GOP will ever have anything to do with McC again after what he almost did to this election? Christ, to have both AS and Rove pissed means he might not even get a good job in the private sector.

" In the real world, people look for revenge."

In the real world, people rally around their heroes. You missed my whole point (not surprisingly) because it used your own motif against you! I said that the grass roots would end the careers of Parsky and the rest of the elites who run the party if McC loses. They'd vote them out. That's revenge right there. You also missed the point of a previous poster -- McC would clean up on the talk-show / book-writing circuit.

Again, the people that supported McC here will continue to do so even if he loses the election. In fact, he'll have won admirers across the country because of his stand. A stand for principles wins you admirers and supporters from near and far. That's something you should factor into your analysis of the 'real world'. :)
