Yes, it's a "hard core conservative activist" site. Which of course makes it the perfect place for middle-of-the-road liberal Republicans (Arnold supporters) to come and display their utter contempt for conservativism and insult the people whose support they so desperately need.

Rich Sybert was a RINO (moved to Ventura from the Valley) who argued that Strickland was too conservative to be elected. When polls showed that Republican voters did not agree, he began tearing down Strickland's signs in typical enraged RINO fashion.
Yes, Ventura County will eventually be RINOized courtesy of the Morrison/North Ranch Limosuine Liberals... but not in time to defeat McClintock in the '04 primary...

The real threat ain't your moderate Repubs - it's the hard core militants organizing farm workers and other illegals to give them the muscle necessary to control county politics. The sooner Ventura urbanizes, the sooner this threat will be neutralized by Rinos moving from the Valley.
No, I am saying that the level of support for A.S. on FR is of little or no consequence as regards this election. I have never stated, nor would I presume to state what the people on F.R. think, but I will say that an FR online poll does not necessarily indicate the sentiments of FR as a whole. IMLHO there is nothing that can be assumed nor proven by an online poll anywhere, even here, except the sentiments of those who choose to participate in said poll.
Polling is a proven statistical science, and as a general statement polls tend to be accurate well within the margin of error. Yes, of course there are exceptions so don't pepper me with examples of inaccurate polls. Given the number of credible organizations polling this race, and the general agreement of those polls, yes, I have faith in most of the polls avaiable (LA Times is of course excluded, note I said 'credible' organizations).
People, as a rule, tend to believe polls with which they agree, and tend to dismiss or attack polls with which they disagree. The fact remains that a properly conducted poll, and polling body of 1000 is actually significant, is seldom wrong. When you have 6 major polls within a 2 week period all agreeing within the margin of error, to discount such polls is to be in denial of reality.

McC has made himself a name where he was previously an unknown. He is now the most recognizable elected (R) in the state of CA. That is, in and of itself, significant. What that makes him is the best possible candidate to take down Boxer in '04. Most CA voters are rather tired of her, her poll numbers are pathetic - in short she is in deep trouble. McC could move from the CA Senate, a minority with little power, to the US Senate, where he will be the (R) representing the largest constituency, a position of significant influence even for a freshman. His idealism will make him more effective, and give him an opportunity to grow support in CA that a governorship hammerlocked with a (D) assembly cannot provide.
