Go to the link and sort by rank rather than alphabetical...you'll start to appreciate why R's signed off on McCain/Feingold. There is only one 'solidly Republican' big donor (Amway at #76) There are 12 'solidly democrat' big donors in the top 20...all unions.

What's really interesting about this table is the disproportionate one-sided giving by the liberal groups. Except for Amway, there is no group that gave more to the Rep. resulting in single digit giving to the Dem. But if you look at how many single digit givers there are to the Rep.

The left is much more passionate about their causes than the business interests which tend to sprend their giving more evenly.

where's halliburton? The media and my liberal friends keep telling me that Bush/Cheney traded their souls and the country and Iraq for Halliburton campaign bucks......... maybe they aren't listed because its part of the whole Enron-Halliburton-Bush-Iraq-Israel-9/11-super secrecy conspiracy.... ;-)

Emily's List is the most pathetic excuse for a pro-women pac. They say they are for getting women involved and elected. Yeah right. Their president said that if it came between a pro-choice man Dem and a pro-choice women Repub, they would give their money to the man because the pro-choice woman rep although she fits all their criteria, would give evil white Republican men who hate women the majority to deny women their basic rights blah blah blah. Or reverse, they would support a male pro-choice republican over a pro-life female democrat.

Last year they supported about 20 candidates and all lost but one.

And not only are they passionate about their giving, which is demonstrated in this chart, but they also absolutely despise/hate President Bush.

The depth of their hatred is as yet unmatched by the commitment of those who support President Bush, as most of those on the "right" side do not have the capacity to hate like this. We are not as mean as they are, despite charges to the contrary.

We must do a much better job on our side convincing all those who agree with us, to get in the trenches and to get moving on re-electing President Bush.

Just looking at who they have in the picture rotation at their site (HRC, Sheila-Jackson Lee, etc) is enough to make you gag.

According to the dems, Ozzie the labor man, with a panel truck and a ladder should be doing the work of a Haliburton.

24 National Rifle Assn $13,970,669 8% 90% 17% 82%

Why the hell did the NRA give nearly 1/5 of all it gave in 2002 to Democrats?

This just confirms the reasoning behind my not being a member. Gun Owners of America may be smaller and less influential, but I bet the money it does give doesn't go to Democrats.

Enron, why would Enron give most of their money to Republicans? I thought a Clinton White House sleepover was worth way more than what is listed.

Odd that it gave more than the previous cycle. Maybe trying to win some over. Or, that $$ may have been directed at specific Dems who are more friendly to them than others. The money is not lump sum you know.
