It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.

Thank you for the get well wishes.

I had to take my mother to the ER this morning and they have admitted her over-night for observation with the same stuffy nose. She's 87 and the doctor wanted to give her antibiotics in an I V. She only showed signs mid-afternoon yesterday but was running a fever this morning and she needed to be seen by a doctor. She's where she needs to be.

Afternoon FRiends, it's a quite day here in Memphis BUT rainy, been raining for over 2 hours now. Rocky is sleeping, DK is sleeping, I'm FReeping. :-)

DK GOES TO WORK MONDAY! PRAISE THE LORD! and THANK YOU JESUS! At a salary MORE than what he made at his last job. 60 day probation period to get through.

Hi lovely sistahs and finest friends. Sorry I couldn't be here much this weekend. The youngest nephew was taken to Ohio State today...we had a lovely visit with my brother and the family (who live in Michigan and are die heart University of Michigan fans...this is a rivalry like no other...so our family is NOW totally diversified LOL!) Have a wonderful evening all...see you on Military Monday!

THE ROSEBUD

A young, new preacher was walking with an older, more seasoned preacher in the garden one day and feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was inquiring of the older preacher. The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it without tearing off any petals. The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the WILL OF GOD for his life and for his ministry. Because of his high respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to TRY to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal in tact...It wasn't long before he realized how it was impossible to do so.

Noticing the younger preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud while keeping it in tact, the older preacher began to tell the following poem...

UNFOLDING THE ROSEBUD

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of every day.
I will look to Him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.

The pathway that lies before me,
Only my heavenly Father knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

I'm sure this is a very difficult time. I was so thrilled when Billie could edit her picture with gw...Mostly for you...we know mom doesn't see it. It could be she is on her final journey...just want you to know how much all of us love you.

I just returned from the hospital. She is better. Fever is down and mouth is working again. She ate well and--Yakity yak yak!
