Another cool trick is to pretend to be a hyper-lefty, and skewer them from an unexpected direction... something like, "You like Dean? You aren't one of those Democrats who is afraid to support a progressive black man or woman, are you? What's your bumper sticker say, 'Vote for Dean, at least he's an electable white man'?"

Driving the stake home is a good metaphor but I'm struggling with exposing them. I though nude protests was THEIR thing, why do we need to expose them. I say put them back in the closet and bury the closet six feet under. After driving a stake home of course.
