Ha! Match with any experiance you have had?
There are those who have "been there" and those who just want to make noise.

We can't destroy those artillery positions unless we have a strong military force in Korea. 2 stand-off aircraft carriers, bombers from Guam and 1 submarine can neutralize North Korea in minutes.
North Korea knows this.
Their threatening posture will soon subside.
A coup instigated from China is in the works.
Just watch.

The ROK can handle it - we are there for politics.

Could be ...
The elite NK's want to keep their toys and status. Seoul is toast .. the Q is guts and staying power.
Will they wimp out or go for it?
Do they really have Nuke protection from the US?
Is KJ 2 really nuts?
If I were king ... and all the rest ...

Please let us get our "trip wire guys " out of there before those NK nukes go off and---well just get out now. Great idea. Let's go.

Pull our troops OUT of Korea. Why should we have our troops over there when they are asked for a safe peace keeping stint they angrily refuse us. Let the communists have them.

Agreed.

Hey, that's okay....let's just take all of OUR troops that are policing their border with DingDong Ill. I mean, it's not like North Korea has invaded them BEFORE or anything.
Pull out most of our DMZ troops and bases, and watch the PRO-American demonstrations spontaneously appear! David Copperfield, it's MAGIC!

My girlfriend's daughter, Kristin, is stationed as a MPO in South Korea. She went in last year, post 9-11, at 19 years old.
I can still remember her from her high school days: pretty, sweet, a little goofy, decent student, band, color guard, etc. She looked like a Calvin Klein model, not a future soldier.
Underneath that youthful silliness was a young mind very interested in politics, that appreciated America's greatness and was particularly interested in the Constitution and the origin of Rights.
When she came home for leave recently, she was very much changed. Still young looking, very pretty, very slender, but physically hardened. The aire of silliness has evaporated; she was solemn, respectful, and carried herself with a sense of purpose.
I asked her how things were going, what was the most unique thing about her military experience.
Her reply? "People listen to you when you carry a weapon." A matter of fact statement, no boasting, no power tripping. A wealth of meaning in her somber tone.
She was all grown up, and ready to die for her country.
Pray for our troops, stationed all over the map!

The solution to the Japanese is to:
a) let them resurrect their military and,
b) give them nukes.

At this point, the Japanese reaction has been primarily a threat. They are taking some concrete actions to make it look real, but if we pull out of Korea, then the Japanese will have the bomb within days, the Taiwanese next, the Aussies, the Vietnamese, etc. From our perpsective, it is better to keep up the charade in the hope that Jung-Il falters.

I find the whole thing disturbing, but I bet Indians find our love of beef to be disturbing too!

I don't see anything either morally or culinarily wrong with it, but that dog farm was definitely one of the more peculiar things I've seen in my travels.
Dog is quite nutritious, in fact, and is certainly preferable to chilled monkey brains.
To: Batrachian
Hmmm, dog or chilled monkey brains. Don't invite me to your house for dinner anytime soon!
