I think another analogy is how water wears away the hardest of stones- one drip at a time.
The True Believers-- those whose whole beingness and definition of self-- is inexorably tied to what Wes Pruden sarcastically dubbed "The Golden Age of Clinton" will never admit the truth about their cheap-footed little tin God, but most normal people will gradually come to associate the Clintons and their worshippers with something they would rather not have anything to do with.
