Some new takes on the Clinton administration. They want to play politics, take the fight to them.

Lopez: This sounds like this could all be right-wing propaganda. How can you convince readers otherwise?
Miniter: Most of my best sources were senior Clinton officials, including both of his national-security advisers, his first CIA director, Clinton's counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke, Madeline Albright, and others. Plus, I interviewed scores of career federal officials. None of them are card-carrying members of the vast right-wing conspiracy.

It just sounds like what many critics of the Clinton Administration have been saying: Bill Clinton literally dropped the ball on bin Laden. He not only dropped it, he fumbled it all over the field. Now George W. Bush has picked it up and is trying to recover it. No, we haven't captured nor killed OBL, but al Queda has been gutted, as has Saddam Hussein's Ba'ath Party. That's why on this second anniversary of the horror of 9/11 the world is a much different place than it was on September 10, 2001
...Never Forget.

Instead of destroying bin Laden's terrorist infrastructure and capabilities, President Clinton phoned twice phoned the president of Yemen demanding better cooperation between the FBI and the Yemeni security services.
Well I guess thats something. Normally the pr*ck wouldn't pick up the phone unless it meant a big contribution or a "lewinsky".
May he and all the trash he brought into the White House burn in hell.

FOX needs to get Rep Mccullum from Florida on tv and interview him about his concerns voiced to then Pres. Clinton about Osama - it's time to go on the OFFENSIVE against these damn democrats!
To: T Lady
As I recall, at a speech shortly after 9/11, Clinton himself took some blame for not going after OBL. Perhaps other Freepers still have the link (I had a computer crash and it is lost).

Yes, as I recall the book Dereliction of Duty detailed how Clinton would not take a phone call from Sandy Berger because he (Clinton) was on the golf course!
This while our pilots were in the air, awaiting final approval from their Commander in Chief.

Don't forget the story of how he had Monica under the desk while talking on the phone to a Congressman about deploying troops to Bosnia. Just thinking about it I need a valium and a shower...

I thought Clinton refused to take that phone call because there was a game on TV he was watching.
Knowing all this, I'm relieved that Bush dumped Tenet...

One of the little scoops in the book is the revelation that Clinton froze Woolsey out because the CIA director refused to put a friend of Bill on the agency's payroll. It would really be nice to know who this person was, no doubt his job would have been to spy on the spies.
