Dearest Canteen,
I will not be checking in too much tomorrow as I am taking Matthew (the almost 4 year old) to our local fair.
In honor of September 11th, the fair is having a SALUTE TO THE MILITARY day.
I thought it would be a good way to show the little one some good people honoring his dad!
I will be keeping the date in my mind all day and hope that we all can remember, always, that freedom is indeed not free!
Have a GREAT sports day (my Mariners are not doing so well)!
I do so appreciate you all!
(Believe it or not, this little thing took me over an hour! But I'm geting better!)

~~~~~~Goodnight all!~~~~~~
Thanks to all of you
who have made this a
relaxing and enjoyable
place to take a break.
We Sincerely appreciate it!
We Will Never Forget!
Marine Corp's Flag still
September 11.
February 23, 1945
Five Marines and a Navy hospital corpsman
raise the flag on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima,
using a piece of Japanese pipe as a mast,
on 23 Feb. 1945.
Three of the flag raisers were later killed
as the fighting raged on.
The Iwo Jima flag raising photo and subsequent
statue, came to symbolize being a Marine
McWilliams said, "Every pair of eyes that saw
that flag, got a little brighter."
Below is a little known tribute to September 11th.
It is not as professional as some but
I found it to be truly touching
