Where Were You Democrat Generals?

September 8, 2003

I heard various things after President Bush's speech (video, audio, text) last night. We had General Wesley Clark whining that we should've left Saddam in power. Then there was General Barry McCaffrey talking about how we have 70% of our Army units deployed around the world as his way of illustrating that we're "stretched too thin." Well who do we have to thank for that, Barr? Your former boss Bill Clinton! All these military brass are happy to scream about this as paid commentators on cable news channels now. Why didn't they speak out when Clinton was systematically slashing defense and they could have helped?

By the way, these Clinton-Gore lackeys like to say that Iraq "distracted our attention and resources from the war on terrorism." I guess that's what Clinton did in Bosnia, Kosovo, Haiti, Iraq and the Sudan, huh? I mean, you can't rebuild in two years what it took eight years to whittle away - while fighting two wars. A president has to get budget requests passed while these clowns are doing everything they can to fight him for political advantage. Again: we had eight years of Clinton (who ran saying foreign policy didn't matter) tearing down our intelligence-gathering abilities and defense with genuine budget cuts, so why isn't anyone holding the people who stood silent during that decimation accountable?

Wesley Clark treated us to his own Monday morning quarterbacking, even as Democrats dream of him announcing so as to "instantly" change the dynamic of the Democratic presidential wannabe crowd. Clark repeated his absurd phrase that Iraq was "an elective war." What the hell does that mean? This is the guy who ran Clinton's campaign against Bosnia and Serbia. I guess Slobodan Milosevic was a clear and present danger to the United States, eh, Wesley? I know you were 15,000 feet in the clouds during the Bosnia conflict, but we were attacked on 9-11 by terrorists which had a connection to worldwide terrorist groups.

It seems to me that Wesley and these other Democrats who use the rhetoric that this was "an elective war" (after years of saying Bush 41 "failed to finish the job") are now saying that we must wait to be attacked before going to war. So what if there's a maniac waving a knife around outside your house; just wait for him to stab you. There's nothing elective about Iraq. Our hand was forced on 9/11. Maybe you missed it, Wes and Barr, but terrorists killed 3,000 innocent civilians on that day. The leader of those terrorists, Osama bin Laden, called for an alliance with Saddam Hussein, and there are piles of evidence that they had a working relationship. They aimed to kill up to 100,000 - and will kill 100 million if we bury our heads in the sand.

They are upset that we have a commander and chief that has the balls to back up what he says.

Those who cannot do, become expert "talking heads" on CNN...
McCaffry is a jealous man, so he will poke at whatever he can to make the present Administration squirm a little.
He's about as effective at this as he was as a General.
Not Very.

Outstanding question:

Name some Generals in the U.S. Military that are currently Democrats and what they were able to achieve for the protection of our country.

I am curious....

As time goes by, it becomes ever more apparent that in Clinton we, in America, found our own Caligula. And these opportunistic leeches like Clark and McCaffery, who, like Clinton, are far more interested in their own personal advancement than the well-being of their country, are merely his Praetorian Guard. Selling their souls, and whatever little honor they possess, to serve their vile master.

The other comment by weasaly Clark that gets my ire is when he says that Pres. Bush didn't plan well enough prior to the war. Well let me see, due to nearly INDISRIMINANT bombing from 15,000 feet in Kosovo he created a hugh humanitarian crisis of refugees running to the borders. I am waiting for someone to call him on that.

Not only that, he wanted to attack the Russians at the airport that may have started WWIII -- that was only saved by an officer refusing to follow his orders. Yea, really good planning weasaly Clark....NOT!

There is no way an honest soldier could embrace Democrat politics.

There is one thing I know, and that is I served most of my 10 years in the Army during the Klinton administration. I saw less and less money for training, and more and more political correctness killing what used to be good units. The troops are starting to get their pride back, and that is a good thing.

The dems say the military is stretched too thin and I agree.

Lets give the UN the responsibility of protecing S. Korea, germany ,italy, japan ........

Then we can consolidate our resources where we need them, controlling our borders
