A peaceful protest will be held

Thursday, September 11 at the Clearwater Courthouse.

Can't go? How can you help anyway? I'm glad you asked!

"The Schindlers are about to lose their daughter because no one

wants to put a teaspoon of Jell-O to her mouth."

-- Christopher A. Ferrara, Esq.

Remember Miracle on 34th Street? Everyone always cheers when those postal employees start piling on the mail. Well let's go for something similar. It may not change the judge's mind, but it will make a definite statement to the media.

I hesitated to start this because of Homeland Security concerns. Can't you just see some wild-eyed liberal screaming "SUSPICIOUS POWDER"? Think of the feeding frenzy...even though the motives in sending it were pure. So here's what I've come up with: Mail your newly purchased, sealed box of "gelatin" -- we all know the brand ;-) -- along with your letter of outrage to Judge Greer. Please freepmail/e-mail for the address. Then during the protest, signs will be available stating why there are boxes full of Jell, I mean gelatin, there. She can show them to the media, give the letters to Judge Greer and Felos (be sure to send them each a letter or two copies of the same generic letter). THEN she can donate the boxes of gelatin in Terri's name to a food pantry to be chosen by the Schindler family! Everyone wins!

It's very late and I'm very tired, so forgive me if I have rambled...and if my image doesn't load. That has nothing to do with fatigue and everything to do with memory lapse. If it doesn't load, use the link for the .pdf file. It takes a while, but I hope you'll be able to use it.

We could really use 2 or 3 Freepers to help out on-site. I'm going to try to get down there, but I can't guarantee anything.

Pamela Hennessy is the PR contact for the Schindler family, who are trying desperately to save Terri Schiavo's life. She shared this with us on the Freeper Call to Action thread http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/971896/posts?q=1&&page=1801

Demonstrators are welcome to convene at the Clearwater Courthouse on Court Street and Fort Harrison in Clearwater, FL. Thursday, September 11, 2003 is the scheduled hearing when Judge Greer is expected to select a date for termination of Terri's nutrition and hydration.

The front lawn of the courthouse sits directly on Fort Harrison. There is a large sidewalk (public property) direcly in front.

Bring signs. You can purchase poster board, black paint and a small brush for under $5.00 total. There is also reinforced poster board that does well in a breeze or rainy conditions for a dime or so more.

If you plan on attending, the hearing begins at 10.00 am. People begin to arrive for work at the complex by 8.30 am. Additionally, traffic along Fort Harrison is good and steady from 7.30 until about 9.30, so any time is appropriate.

Though a public sidewalk is considered encroachment, it is in front of a courthouse and the police station is a stone's toss away, so a PEACEFUL assembly is the only appropriate course.

Dress comfortably and bring a bottle of water. It's certain to be warm. Be prepared to speak to the media and know that they will be swarming that day. Explain to them why you got involved, what it means to you, why it causes you worry. No need to try and wrestle with the legal proceedings.

There is a lot of foot traffic in front of the courthouse as well. If someone stops and asks what all the fuss is about, take a bit of time to chat them up about Terri. They will probably thank you for it. Direct them to the web site, if you think of it.

Above all, the more the merrier. Understanding that people have jobs, obligations, families and bills to pay... if you can make the time, you are welcome and appreciated.

If you want to help, Freepmail me and I will be glad to coordinate this with Pam Hennessy.

I also have a flyer in .pdf format for anyone who wants it. I don't do many .pdf files and so it is very large. But I think it has some good stuff on it. Print it out, hand it out! Perhaps even give some to your friends to generate interest. It is free for your use. If you want on my Terri Schiavo ping list, please Freepmail me. -- Kimmie7

I don't get the graphic thing. It previewed just fine. If anyone wants to fix it for me, go ahead. I'm worn out and going to bed. Got church in 5 hours.

This was put on FR late last night, so I am sure a lot of people didn't see it (an interview with Terri's brother - a must read -explains a lot of things)

Everyone needs to email and call Charlie Crist, the AG for Florida. He is a Republican and he has the power to open a criminal investigation here.

From what I read there is plenty of evidence that the husband may have been responsible for her consition in the first place. It seems to me if they take her off the feeding tube and she dies, this man should be indicted for murder. Maybe we should be asking the DA why this man is not being indicted for attempted murder. It may not be an open and shut case, but it does sound like it should be presented to a jury.

Maybe we can also put more pressure on the DA in this case.

Would it be possible for someone to have a shopping cart (or wheelbarrow, wagon...whatever works) full of gelatin outside the court house?

Thanks for the post, kimmie.  I wish that wonderful graphic would show up!  You've still gotten the message out.

The 'gelatin' will need  to be mailed ASAP to get to Pamela Hennessey's office by Wednesday.  Thursday mail delivery arrival would be too late.

For those of us who haven't been following, and don't know what this story is about, a summary of her situation would help, along with pictures of Terri.

www.terrisfight.org

She's obviously NOT in a 'Permanant Vegative State' by my definition!

Has O'Reilly ever picked up on this story? It needs more visability.
