Sorry. I am not a censor, heaven forbid. I say what's on my mind and try to contribute my part to the discussion and I won't get personal here. At rate, I see now this thread is moving along quite nicely.

One of the vew network shows that I watch when I can is Law and Order. I also watch the reruns on the alternative channel. The treatment of the various ethnicities has been something I've paid some attnetion to. I have to say that blacks frequently turn out to be the quilty parties in these shows. I don't keep statistics, but I can recall one show in which a black stock broker had crookedly inflated his sales numbers. He murdered a white co-worker when it was discovered. The black stock broker was positively chilling in his detachment from the guilt of his crime. Black-on-black and black-on-white crime is frequently protrayed. I could be wrong, but it's my impression that the author of this article might be just a bit selective in the episodes he chooses to back his thesis.

Dick Wolf writes interesting stories. Let me add we could all do without the tiresome cliche its whites who commit most of the crimes in Big Cities. In the real world the opposite is the reality - but trying showing it on TV without getting the NAACLP up your ass.

True! And the bad guy is usually a more entertaining role than the hero. A lot of black acting careers have been made bor-ing by playing only white bread heroes. I found it refreshing to see the DVD the other day of Denzel Washington playing the Cop from Hell in Training Day the other day. (Not that it's realistic, in spite of its director's claims, but at least it was entertaining as hell.)

I really don't believe these people consciously do what they do.

I have to disagree. I think it is deliberate. It's way too obvious. All these high profile crime cases where they purposely change the perps from black to white...I mean, they have to know what they're doing. But I think the reason they do it is because they know nonwhites will protest, boycott and scream racism if they are portrayed at all negatively. Whites, especially white males, are the only group they can safely pick on. Since every show needs a villain, and every commercial needs a dummy, and they don't dare use minorities for these roles, they purposely use white males. Maybe it's time for white males to start protesting and boycotting.

I watch Law & Order fairly religiously, and while I've seen a fair amount of white-on-white crime depicted on it (Russian gangsters are becoming frequent baddies), I can recall only one case from the past year or two where the killer was black, and the victim white. That was a story of a black guy murdering and ripping off a white female drug dealer. Another case involved a black kid who shot a white female cop (without killing her), simply because of the color of her skin, and got off in a case of jury nullification.

Within that story was a black-on-black murder -- the kid claimed he was getting revenge on the police for his older brother's death years earlier, but that was pretty muddled. The murder had been covered up, or was it? The since deceased white detective on the case had ruled it a suicide, but a black convict in jail for life claimed he had shot and killed the dead brother. The medical examiner from the time was a corrupt, incompetent white woman (again!), so she hadn't done a proper exam of the corpse, and had since lost her records, while the crooked funeral home (race unknown) had sold the corpse to a medical research firm.

Well done.

However, "pick on" rather simplifies their goal.

White liberals and "Others" willl not be satisfied till our race is oblitareated from this earth.

Don't know about the optimist part, but you are right on with this opinion. That's why all our authors, pundits, radio hosts etc. get tagged with right wing or conservative or both as Right Wing radio host, Rush Limbaugh while lefty authors, hosts etc. are designated simply with their names.

They do the same thing with their editorializing in what is supposed to be a news report. If you call them on it, they honestly can't see what you are getting at.

Not enough to destroy the liberal American media, we have to circumvent the public schools too. Home or private school is the only answer. If we can do that - maybe in 20-30 years - the media will promote conservative opinions as normal.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't watched network programming in years now. The less people that watch the less advertisers, the sooner these scum bags go under.
