I watched him on Saturday night. And it wasn't anywhere near Detroit, let alone Michigan.

And, he showed up, in person, well, in a casket, carried in, actually, at a movie theater, to introduce The Dunwich Horror.

One and the same. In 1964 he joined Detroit's WJBK (Ch. 2) as a dinnertime and late-night weatherman, doing crazy "science" skits, and later also hosting late-night horror movies. After a few months he moved to WXYZ (Ch. 7) with just the movie program. In 1965 he returned to New Orleans.

Remember, George Noory is an old Detroiter, too! He's said that Morgus was one of the influences that made him go into broadcasting.

(Noory probably still feels awful for punching Morgus in the face -- live on radio -- when the good doctor's mental powers failed to block the punch. LOL!!!)

Good guess. Actually, I'm not sure that the Bruiser ever wrestled the Sheik.
The Sheik wrestled a few years after the Bruiser had left Detroit. The Bruiser ended up being a good guy. He even had his own wrestling promotion in the Detroit area in the 80's. Around 1960 he was so vicious though he became a household name in Detroit. There was even an incident when he was arrested for disorderly behavior in a restaurant and eight police officers had to restrain him,

The legend of the girl tapping on the car roof was all over Detroit. The first time I heard it my friend telling the story tapped on the roof with his own hand. I didn't realize it was him and I was scared half to death.
