I have just concluded my $1,000,000 study and have concluded that soldiers fight because they are given orders to do so. Please send check in the mail.
Now, if you want to know WHY soldiers volunteer to join up to fight, that will be a different study, requiring another mil.

I've never been in a firefight, but I did 20 years in the US Navy. And I've seen a few things during those years and some since. Yes soldiers fight because they're given orders. But once the fight is joined they fight for each other and not country or Mom's apple pie.
