Right on...as the world turns, most people have 4 primary authority figures in life. In no certain order:

1) G-d, or whatever supreme deity they believe in.
2) The father.
3) A boss at a job.
4. Government.

Fathers die. Bosses are left behind when one changes jobs or government nationalizes that segment of the economy (health care anyone?) and government becomes boss. Religion is so segregated from everyday life and individuals are taxed so much that they have to work extended hours or 2nd jobs to maintain a standard of living so G-d is forgotten. Who's left?
