Free Republic has convinced me that I am not the only rational person on the planet. It has also made it clear to me that I am not always as rational as I percieve my self to be.

Freepers are compassionate and kind, but they won't kiss your donkey to get along with you.

I love Free Republic because they love what I love- THe Good Ol' USA and the Constitution and Bill of rights as written in the original english-not the twisted lingo of the perverts of the legal professions version.

I didn't come here expecting Free Republic to do something for me.

Free Republic is the most entertaining & informative place I've ever been. It makes me laugh, it makes me cry & I learn something new every day. Oh yeah, I've gained weight too.

- Given me the world's best breaking news minutes before the mainstream press

- Allowed me to post and comment on that news, along with giving my own viewpoint, thereby keeping me sane and perhaps helping others to understand the situation

- Kept me out of trouble while in college and law school

- Gave me the desire to finally get real marksmanship lessons

- Helped me defeat countless liberals in verbal arguments.

FR has been many things, and that includes keeping me up too late, and making me laugh like hell. Above all, FR has been where my ideas are put to test. Mistakes hardly ever get past Freepers. Every thread, every post is a challenge.

I have learned more here on FreeRepublic about the TRUE history of my country and the laws that govern it than I ever learned in publik skool. Lies that I might have otherwise believed have been revealed here and I am amazed at the wealth of knowledge that is here and shared among everyone. I have also learned that although you disagree on subjects that we are all in it for the preservation of a way of life that is dear to us all.

Actually, until FR, I thought I was alone, save for a few close friends and my husband. When I found FR, my husband was THRILLED because he was no longer forced to here me say 100 times a day, "You are not going to believe what I just read/saw/heard." I had new friends to have a running dialogue with.

Second, it has given me more valuable ammunition with my liberal family members than I could ever have imagined. It has helped me win quite a few arguements.

Finally, though I have always been a vocal pain in the a** (just ask my mom) FR has made me even bolder and in your face when liberals give me crap.

What Has Free Republic Ever Done for.... YOU?

It helped me to keep my sanity and blood pressure down to a comfortable level during the Democrats attempts to steal the election in Florida 2000, it has provided me with many wonderful life long friends whom I never would have met if it werent for this site, it was there for me in my grief on 9/11, and it has provided me with much intellectual ammunition and tons of info, with which I use to debate liberals on other message boards and newsgroups across the internet.

Aside from the many friends I've made and the many things I've learned which never made it to the front page of any mainstream newspaper, FR has helped me to maintain my sanity as I recovered from a major surgery.

Being a politically active person, I was used to being out and about. On 9-13-01 I had a 5 level Cervical Fusion to repair a severe whiplash. I was confined to my home for 8 weeks after the surgery. Not even a first time shop lifter is confined to home for 8 wks!

I recouperated at FR. I needed a walker to get around for the first 5 wks. I couldn't get in and out of chairs by myself. I was nearly helpless. There is only so much television you can watch after the first week, when you're not used to watching at all.

Through the kindness of my family, someone was generally nearby to assist me in moving from the Lazy Boy, into the walker, and across the room and into my chair in front of the computer. I spent hours at FR, reading, posting and learning.

What has FR done for me???? It saved my sanity.
