Actually, while I prefer non-sweet potato salad, if you make it by your (Our) recipe and add a teaspoon of sweet relish, it seems to make everyone happy. When I make it for a crowd I do this and even the sweet lovers will love it.

I'm going to attempt using my last year's Christmas present, a turkey fryer. I've cleared the patio of (most) of the combustibles and, thank God, we've had about a foot of rain in the last two days, so the vegetation is not at risk.

My 2 cents from previous turkey frys: Put down some cardboard and sit the fryer on that...you need at least 2' in each direction. The thing will splatter and stain the patio if you don't.

Are you folks referring to the nasty stuff that passes for potato salad in grocery stores? Yuck! The best potato salad recipe can be found at www.bestfoods.com Everybody loves it!
I have no clue what I'm doing for Labor Day. It will involve making that potato salad for sure ;-)

I was away from the 'puter all weekend [went to see NC State play, did a bunch of outside chores] so I didn't see your ping until today.
Besides, as far as I know, stainlessbanner is the only one with the BBQ ping list.
All I can say is it's a good thing I saw the picture of your smoker AFTER suppertime!
