PS:

You find it strange that some people would wait a few years before speaking up and stepping forward to get involved?

Kitty Genovese died in vain.

I find it exceedingly strange that medical professionals would stand idly by while the things these three women claimed were happening happened. They were risking their licenses by doing so. And now, suddenly, 6-10 years later, they "suddenly" remember all these things.

But the most telling part is that none of it is relevant, because it all pertains to the patient's condition many years ago. There was a panel of physicians approved by the court who examined her less than a year ago, and the majority, including a neurological specialist imported from Ohio to be sure of his utter impartiality, found that she is in a persistent vegetative state with no chance of recovery.

But sure, why not -- let's take the recollections of a decade ago from a couple of nurses aids and an LPN, and let that trump recent, thorough examinations by five specialists. Makes sense to me.
