The following sentence says a lot about how soon Michael's intentions were suspect.

One has to ask the question, "what were his motives in doing this"?

What an unbelievably one-sided article. Michael sounds soooo long-suffering, the parents just in it for the money.
The author even goes so far as to say that starvation "for those near death" can be a relatively PLEASANT way to die.
