"Have you noticed that an awful lot of this junk that's happening lately is in The Bible Belt? Wonder if that's a coincidence."
Probably not. The leftists are probably bringing the battle to the Bible Belt much as we took the war on terror to Afghanistan and Iraq.
Kimmie, please add me to your ping list.

Try 12 doctors. Try countless speech, occupational, and rehab therapists. We've been researching this almost all night and day 2 days in a row. Either you know the facts in this case and haven't a brain or a heart or you have a lot of reading to do.

This is absolutely sick. How is it that these affidavits count for nothing in court?

What an unbelievably one-sided article. Michael sounds soooo long-suffering, the parents just in it for the money.
The author even goes so far as to say that starvation "for those near death" can be a relatively PLEASANT way to die.

He invites friends over for chanting -- "I am that I am. I am that I am." -- while he plays the harmonium.Interesting chant there, buddy. Does he fancy himself to be God? Definitely god-like, with his right-to-die life's calling. Thankfully, one day he'll answer to the Great I Am.

Maybe the question the Federal court needs to ask is, did Michael Schiavo, as her guardian, override the doctor's orders for therapy and medicines? Is this legal? This to me seems to be the strongest legal point here. In one of Michael's last motions he requested that he be allowed to not treat a potentially life-threating infection. Unbelievably - for this judge - the judge denied it. Which means that he has been required by the courts that all through this he was supposed to be making sure that she did recieve regular medical care. These affidavits, as well as other evidence we have found, prove that this has not been the case. Therefore he has been negligent as a guardian, and has not been following the court's orders.
But I still don't understand why the Federal court didn't require that she be immediately admitted to the hospital LAST NIGHT, instead of waiting til after Tuesday's hearing.

Isn't it interesting that in the malpractice suit, they already thought that Terri could live for 51 years? And once the money is awarded, she's not worth allowing those same 51 years? Sick, sick, sick! Very sick.
I hadn't read about the 51 years before.

It would have been impossible to hold an emergency hearing at the Federal level on a holiday weekend. All the parties have to agree to the time and date of the hearing, whether it's an emergency or not. For one thing, the Federal Courthouse is closed on Sat. and Sunday and it's a big fancy, schmancy courthouse with metal detectors, lots of staff and security. (I used to work on Federal Court Trials.)

Sorry, I am too easily offended by offhand remarks re "Terri Shiavo's case". I see what you mean. Not only does Terri deserve better treatment, I think that perhaps the push for her death involves covering up a crime. How could a judge be so blind to that aspect? No wait, don't answer that. TV court judges like Larry Gregorious, Mayblean Ephraim, or Judith Sheindlin have more integrity than George Greer. I'm not joking, I'm serious.

Yes, I can see why they couldn't hold the hearing till Tuesday. I just would have thought there could have been some sort of emergency order to allow her treatment until that time. Being a life or death situation. I'm just so afraid she won't make it till Tuesday without medical intervention. I KNOW she won't get it at the hospice.

I find it exceedingly strange that you are so thick-headed. Tell us, Brandon, exactly why do you think Terri was moved from a nursing home facility to a hospice facility. People go to a hospice where they are expected to die. But Terri hasn't...she has clung to life...eeked it out day after languishing day for YEARS! Why is it taking so long for Terri to die? The answer: because she is not in a persistant vegitative state, as they are diagnosing her!! She is being mis-diagnosed!!! She is a brain-damaged person, who, whether or not she ever regains anything other abilities, has the right to stay alive, as long as she is treated with appropriate medical treatment. Her husband disallows anything of the sort!!
Open your eyes, Brandon!!

I'm painting my bathroom today. I think I saw a timeline on Terri's official page. Maybe my recollection is wrong. Anyway, riddle me this. 1. How long was George Felos on the Board of Hospice? Begin & End Date. 2. When did George Felos first have knowledge of Terri Schiavo? 3. When did Michael Schiavo hire George Felos?
This looks like a case of insider trading. Hospice is supposed to be not-for-profit, Felo's on the Board and must have fiduciary responsibilities therein.
My theory is that another Hospice board member tells Felo about Terri Schiavo and he hooks up with Michael Schiavo because of the potential for sizeable legal fees, which imo would be a violation of his fiduciary responsibilities as a Hospice Board member. He quits the Board at Hospice to represent Michael Schiavo in the sunshine (after the violation) who wants an expert to make sure that "nothing" goes wrong; i.e. public outcry, drawing the right Judge and making sure he's on the same page, putting Terri in Hospice instead of in a nursing home and ultimately keep the parents in the dark so there's no interference of any kind. They went to Morton Plant Hospital last evening and instead of having her admitted, they turn around and drove Terri back to Hospice. Hospice is in on it.
That's my summation-theory and it's suitable for emailing but if anyone does, please delete my screen name. I don't want to be their next case.

It's clear to me why he's been divorced twice. I'd be very afraid if he was my husband. No wonder he and Schiavo have such a good working relationship. Two model husbands.

Maybe the Federal Court Judge had information to the effect that it was not a life or death matter; i.e., even the Federal Court Judge KNOWS that Terri is not terminally ill but that she is chronically ill.
J. Greer will be ruined over this unless he has a change of heart. I heard on the radio that there was a guardianship conference this weekend. Let's pray that Greer has a change of heart at the conference. The husband and Atty Felos are both courting criminal convictions - i.e. criminal neglect. Hospice is also courting charges of medical neglect. I'd be okay if Hospice of Suncoast, Pinellas was kicked out of Pinellas and we find another agency who isn't pro death.
I wrote to O' Reilly and Hospice of Suncoast switched their mission from "end of life" services to "ending life" services. I hope he reads all of our emails and gets this back on Fox News Channel asap.

BTW- here are some interesting entries in the dictionary for the definition of "peristent": "continuing to exist in spite of interference or treatment"(or lack thereof); "existing for a long or longer than usual time or continuously"; "retained beyond the usual period"; "degraded only slowly by the environment" (or by hubby?) I don't know about the rest of you, but I find these entries very revealing in Terri's situation. I can only imagine Michael's wondering, "Why won't Terri die? I've done everything I could to get her out of my life!"
To: iowamomforfreedom
Thank you for that link. Very telling, at least in what's it's allowed to tell. I still have a lot of questions about where the remainder of that $9 million went. It doesn't really say why there's only $1.2 million to start with does it? What happened with the other $7.8 million?
