I have problems with anyone who tells me his opinions haven't changed in 20 years. It makes me suspect that he has stopped thinking somewhere along the way.

I thought that. Why in the last 20 years my views on social matters have turned upside down. You raise kids and somehow you change or go nuts. Plus with half your friends divorcing you get less judging about it. Then kids of your friends come out of the closet and you don't judge them. Well, it just goes on and on. Never changing in 20 years sort of makes me wonder if he is rigid.
