The United Nations - A Legitimate Target?
Al-Muhajiroun.com ^ | Aug. 24, 2003 | Al-Muhajiroun.com

Congrats to all Freepers who took time to write an email to the ISP hosting Al-Muhajiroun.com. One of the most important sites for Al-Qaeda in Europe was forced off the servers at Clara.net and has moved to Germany. Note that the hot-linked image in that posting is now gone. Al-Muhajiroun.com even posted this prominent 'disclaimer' on their website contesting our claim that their upcoming conference "commemorating the Magnificent 19" was in fact a "Celebration of the Murder of 3,000 people".

From the Al-Muhajiroun.com website:

THE 'MAGNIFICENT 19' CONFERENCE IS NOT A CELEBRATION

... The commemoration of 11th september is to look at its causes, and the driving forces and motives of the 19 men in order to have a better understanding, and to see if the remaining presence of these causes could result in this effect happening again, in diferent ways and using different methods.

Actually, the root cause, driving forces, and motives of the "Magnificent 19" is due to groups such as Al-Muhajiroun.com.  The pupose of the 'commemoration' is to inspire young Muslims everywhere to follow in their footsteps and repeat the tragedy.... "to see if the remaining presence of these causes could result in this effect happening again, in diferent ways and using different methods".

This week, the Al-Muhajiroun gives reasons why the United Nations is a legitimate target:

UN: A Legitimate Target.

The United Nations - A Legitimate Target?

Press Release Dated 24th August 2003

Last week witnessed two tremendous operations by the Mujahideen, one in Palestine and the other in Baghdad. As far as Palestine is concerned there are no doubters that the Jewish occupiers of Muslim land must leave or face the consequences, fit for those who perpetrate aggression against Muslims. Surprisingly however, there are still some who believe that the United Nations (targeted in the bombing in Baghdad) is an independent organisation representing the wishes of the so-called 'international community' as opposed to a quango organisation doing the bidding of the US...

This might be good news for us -- Germany has outlawed the group: and Germany has laws against hate speech over the internet.

having seen your thoughts on that other UN thread (warcrimes on workers) I know why you thought as you did.
We are on the same page.

If the terrorists had hit the United Nations in NY and other left-leaning targets, rather than the World Trade Center and Pentagon, the liberals in the U.S., and worldwide, would better understand how the terrorists think and operate. As it happened, the bombings left much of the terrorists' agenda open to speculation, and even more so open to finger pointing. And less open to objective investigation.

It was a coup for the terrorists to attack as they did, when they did.

Hopefully, the loss of civil liberty in our country will result in greater security. Still, I think the loss of civil liberty fits with the terrorists' greater plan.

It's a sad cautionary tale for our children to inherit.

(PRESS RELEASE SNIPPET: "One of the many benefits of 9/11 was that it clearly delineated the two camps of Islam and Kufr (non-Islam), the camp of Haq (truth) and that of Batil (falsehood), the camp of sovereignty and supremacy for God as opposed to sovereignty and supremacy for man made law. Verily Muslims have no choice but to reject all alliances apart from those with Muslims. This means rejecting the UN and any organisation or body propagating man made law. As Allah (SWT) says in the Qur'an: 'O believers do not take the Jews and Christians as friends and protectors. They are just supporters of and love each other alone. And whoever does turn to them is one of them. Verily Allah does not guide the oppressors' [EMQ 5:51] And 'The believers are a single brotherhood' [EMQ 49:10] Let it be known therefore that all regimes, governments and bodies (implementing man made law) in the world today are rejected by Muslims and that the only legitimate authority, recognised in Islam on the state level, is that of the Islamic State i.e. Al-Khilafah, which must be established by Muslims and which will carry the message of Islam to the world - striving for Izhar ud-Deen i.e. the total domination of the world by Islam, through its divine foreign policy of Jihad. An explosion also occurred at the Jordanian Embassy in Baghdad on August 7, 2003. The Department of State continues to strongly warn U.S. citizens against travel to Iraq. Although the restrictions on the use of U.S. passport travel to, in or through Iraq has been lifted, travel to Iraq remains dangerous. Remnants of the former Baath regime, transnational terrorists, and criminal elements remain active. Coalition led military operations continue, and there are daily attacks against Coalition forces throughout the country. Attacks have occurred in Baghdad, Faluja, Ramadi, Tikrit, Bayji, Baqubah, Mosul, Kirkuk and other areas, but the security environment in all of Iraq remains volatile and unpredictable. Attacks on coalition forces as well as civilian targets usually occur during the late evening and early morning hours. Travel at night is extremely dangerous. There have been attacks on civilian as well as military convoys. Travelers are strongly urged to travel in convoys of at least four vehicles in daylight hours only. "Germany has outlawed the group"

I guess their next stop is France. Since the French say they have seen no proof that Hamas and Islamic Jihad are terrorist groups, I'm sure the same goes for these "freedom fighters."

You know, my wife and I talked about this over breakfast this morning. When we were attacked on 9/11, the media and the left in general wasted no time at all in pointing out that we had brought the attacks on ourselves and some foreign media even mocked Americans for asking the simple question 'Why would anyone hate us so much as to do a thing like this?' Even with the attack in Bali, some people and many in the media were quick to point out that John Howard had brought this on Australia by entering into a coalition with the US.

Here, we have the UN being attacked viciously in a mindless and hateful act of violence. But when the UN and its sycophants ask 'Why would anyone attack the UN- we are here to help?' no one in the media mocks this question. No one suggests that the UN has brought this on themselves. And to make perfectly clear, I am not suggesting in any way that the UN has brought this on themselves. It's just that a clear double standard exists here.

When we are attacked, some people practically fall over themselves pointing out that if we didn't meddle in the affairs of others no one would hate us. Yet the UN- by its very mandate a meddler in the affairs of others- is totally exempt from this line of argument.

I find this whole affair sickening. The violence. The loss of life. The cognitive dissonance in the media and on the Left concerning this matter...

Honestly, I fear the potential of what the UN stands for and could do far more than I'll ever fear the terrorists.
