The Wreck Of The Cruz Bustamante [Song Parody - Vanity]
Vanity ^ | August 21, 2003 | Vanity

Posted on 08/21/2003 3:30:43 PM PDT by pogo101

The legend lives on from the Pechanga on down
Of California’s First Mate Bustamante
A tax-hiking swine, Cruz looked as refined
As Quixote astride Rocinante.

With the recall bein’ signed, Cruz thrice had declined
E’er to run on the ballot himself, see
For to do so would be, surely, disloyalty
To Cap’n Gray Davis’s party!

And Cruz was the pride of the La Raza side
Who longed for the reconquistada
As big politicos go he was bigger than most
Yet sounded so damn disparatada [nonsensical].

The news on the wire set Cruz’s ambitions afire
As the recall broke past Davis’s defenses
Every Democrat knew, as Cap’n Davis did, too,
Californians had come to their senses!

The crew wired Dianne it’d really hit the fan
And their Democrat ship’s beams were a-groanin’
but Admiral Dianne wouldna’ go; she shut off her radio
When the ship was broadsided by Conan!

It was then, Cruz did say, Davis was dead anyway –
“So what’s the point keepin’ mi promesa?”
He backstabbed ol’ Gray but, that very same day,
apologized por la sorpresa!

October 7 she came with Gray pullin’ up lame
while Tom and Bill threw help to Conan
Bustamante we’re told never rose in the polls
despite 75 days of his phonin’

And so it went, his political capital spent
To his party, he was repugnante
And so down went Gray, and, the very same day,
came the wreck of the Cruz Bustamante!

***

Orange County rolls, Sacramento sings
Of the cuts in Davis - Cruz taxes
California she steams with the Terminator’s dreams,
As regulation falls under the axes!

***

The legend lives on from the Pechanga on down
Of a left-wing racist muy gigante
That Election Day, Californians all say
brought the Wreck of The Cruz Bustamante!

Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When Gray in November leaves early?

;^)

Yeah! That's the spirit! (Here's hoping it's October, tho!)

The party, it's said, never gives up her dead
For although its money's its motor
In Chicago, you'll find, come election time,
those dead prove reliable voters!

That put a very nice smile on my face! Very clever!

The use of Spanish was an excellent idea, but some definitions might be helpful to us Gringos. For example, who or what is Rocinante?

Thanks for the bright spot in my day this afternoon!

LOL!

On a serious note, I wonder what the impact will be, South of the border, when California Norte` boots Davis out. Oh the illegals will keep coming, but they may reconsider some of their "demands".

I wish I knew Spanish myself. Would you believe I had to go to an online Spanish rhyming dictionary to find "sorpresa" and "promesa" -- or, for that matter, that there exists such a thing as an online Spanish rhyming dictionary?

Rocinante (literally meaning something like "super nag") was Don Quixote's swaybacked horse, although to Quixote he was as proud and healthy a warhorse as any knight could want. Quixote & steed LOOKED ridiculous, set in humorous contrast to how noble Quixote himself acted all the time.

Does anyone know where the Democrats go
when they don't think they'll win an election
Bustamonte it's said, he was already dead
He got less votes than old Gary Coleman!

Unless Tom McClintock is elected, we have the choice of Davis, Davis Lite (Cruz), and Davis Extra Flavor (Arnie).

I don't know if invoking Don Quixote is the best image for Bustamante, since Quixote was in his own way a hero.

Not a title I'd give Bustamante, the drab political hack.

I have grave doubts about Bustamante's suitability to be governor. Unless I hear some evidence to the contrary, he seems like an unintelligent person whose political operation is largely run by his staff.

From reading a few of them, I got the impression that his staff ghostwrites all the impossibly dull speeches he needs for the job, and he recites them woodenly at rubber-chicken events.

You have to check this out for a laugh. There's an ad for one of Univision's sexy shows on the left, and Cruz Bustamante, looking particularly dumb in the picture on the right, appears to be leering at it. I had to laugh, and I just hope they'll keep the page with the same ad so you can see. (I found it when doing a Google search for the Bustamante speech page).

I thought the same about comparing him to Quixote. Really I did so only to exploit the rhyme with "Rocinante." (He's more like Sancho Panza, but I'd get accused of racism then, wouldn't I?)

Tremendous! Just sang it with my 12 sting backing me up. Works perfectly.

Wow, I didn't even know there were 12-string guitars! Glad it works for someone who actually is a musician.
