Qualification seems to be a relative thing in California in past years. He seems no more or less qualified than any other.

Governors are like a CEO. They are managers and that is a special talent.

Political experience wins no points of qualification with me. Winning a statewide election is another point to consider with the mix. Public persona is important for consensus management.

Lack of either will not get someone elected.

I've read at least 50 articles re: Arnold and related people, dating back to the 1970's. My impression is that Arnold is a 'managEE', rather a managOR. He was turned into a commercial icon by Joe Weider, a man charged with fraud, false advertising and misrepresentation on many occasions, mostly for selling questionable 'nutritional' and 'enhancement' products via mail. With all of the political promoters surrounding Arnold now, I have to question who is really leading... and who is just playing the lead part.

In fact, I can't find one reason why anyone would think he is qualified or capable of leading this state... let alone find a single republican ideal that he supports.

He received his 'business degree' via a correspondence program.

The children's programs he supports (and promotes) are largely financed by government (fed and state), and are run by friends and family, some of whom are quite well compensated (Inner City Games, Special Olympics, etc).

While most republicans were outraged by the lies of the Clinton administration, Arnold is quoted as being "ashamed to be a republican".

He supports gun control.
He supports abortion.
He supports gay rights, including adoption.
He says he is a fiscal conservative, yet chooses one of the most left wing individuals to be his advisor.

What's amazing to me is that he calls himself a republican.
More amazing is that so many are willing to support him given his leftist views.
