Arnold Schwarzenegger is one among three other serious candidates for the California governorship - Sen. Tom McClintock, businessman Bill Simon and former baseball commissioner Peter Ueberroth One among three other? So Arnold is one of the three other candidates in diguise? C'mon Jack . . .

Now he has said California taxes are too low, and his statements suggest he would advise Schwarzenegger to back repeal of Proposition 13, the restriction on property-tax growth that has been a thorn in the side of big-spending California liberals for 25 years. And Buffett still hasn't been shown the door by Arnold.

On his first day of employment, he basically threatens all homeowners with a property tax raise, which would cost 1000's of CA homeowners tens of thousands in loss of equity each AND would deal an economic blow to realtors, banks, appraisers, home inspectors, lawyers, title companies, etc etc etc. Also, new homeowners buy all kinds of products for a new home.
How can he not be let go? Is one of Warren's corps going to benfit from this?

This can't have been written by Jack Kemp. Nowhere in it does he say, "I'm an ex-quarterback."

For example, Buffett completely misunderstands the important role employee stock options play in giving workers an ownership interest in up-and-coming companies. He would change the rules by which stock options are accounted for on financial statements in a way that would reserve them for top executives and make it virtually impossible for entrepreneurs to continue giving their workers a piece of the company in exchange for their sweat equity.Woah, I think Buffett is in Left field with reference to wanting taxes increased, but stock options are another ball of wax. He wants stock options to be treated as an expense for purposes of accounting to provide investors a more accurate picture of the company's performance and health. Here's a good article on the subject: link

The reason Buffett doesn't understand employees and their benefits like stock options is that Buffett made his made in the insurance game. He never paid dividends nor split his stock and as such the price of Berkshire Hathaway A (BRK.A) is at an artificial high of $75,000 per share. He's now trying to do the same with Berkshire Hathaway B (BRK.B) See:

Arnold is sounding by his silence to be another loser.

Our socialist millionaires love the capitalist system until they acquire their wealth. Being the anti-competitive ideology that socialism is, our rich liberals embrace this ideology in the name of compassion, while the real reason is they don't want their wealth and power challenged by the masses. It's a lot easier to rule the roost with less competition.

he does not change the Warren Buffet choice, I

This incident proves an Arnold win is a recipe for disaster. It could. Or it could also show what a tin ear Arnold really has. My guess is he enlisted Buffett not for his skills as a politican (he has none) but his universally recognized name and his track record of making piles of money.
Unfortunately for Arnold, neither of these "good" attributes seem to be translating into anything but trouble. Buffett doesn't seem to have a clue what it will take to fix Kalifornia's finances despite his own massive bank account, or perhaps in spite of it.

People also seem unwilling to state the obvious about Buffett - the guy is a total cheapskate! been to a Dairy Queen of late? were you able to distinguish the store from any of the old blown out buildings in Baghdad I saw the C-SPAN cameraman chasing around last weekend? that's because Buffett is unwilling to invest anything in his businesses than the bare minimum. his managers are paid well, but close to the minimum one would expect for comparable work, without any fringe benefits one's counterparts would likely expect.

2002: Arnold, Buffett meet with Rothschilds, other elites
Reuters, Sept. 24, 2002: WADDESDON MANOR, England (Reuters) - The world's second-richest man dropped into the English countryside with the Terminator at his side on Monday, a day after warning the UK's corporate big game his elephant gun was loaded.
Billionaire Warren Buffett and mean machine Arnold Schwarzenegger touched down by helicopter on the immaculate lawns of Waddesdon manor, a Renaissance-style chateau in the undulating hills of Buckinghamshire.
Buffett, 72, is guest of honor at a closed two-day meeting of some of the world's most powerful businessmen and financiers -- the ultimate networking opportunity.
The get-together in the ancestral home of the Rothschild banking family will discuss economic and political issues Among those invited to Waddesdon Manor were the likes of James Wolfensohn, president of the World Bank, Jorma Ollila, chief executive of Nokia and De Beers chairman Nicky Oppenheimer.
A group of photographers captured the moment when Buffett and Schwarzenegger, resplendent in steel-tipped cowboy boots, stepped onto Waddesdon's freshly cut lawn to be greeted by Lord Jacob Rothschild. . .

I was willing to give Arnold the benefit of the doubt UNTIL this Buffet creep said what he said. Then when Arnold said something different, I said to myself: THEN WHY DID YOU HIRE BUFFET IN THE FIRST PLACE?! Arnold apparently cannot be trusted.
