"My guess is that there were some other conditions there that made it ripe for this cascading event to occur," said Dagle, who works at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, in Richland, Wash. "Maybe some critical equipment was out of service, or not enough reserve margin was available."I know that it's hot in the east but was there a known critical strain on the system? And why would Canada first blame lightning, then the United States. I find this really odd, particularly if there were other critical factors in play.

"Maybe some critical equipment was out of service, or not enough reserve margin was available." If I was to take a guess .. it's a little of both
FNC is reporting that the Red Cross is in NY and they are passing out water bottles and or things to the people

Well, if Hillary can blame Enron, why shouldn't Chretien blame the US in general. They are too socialist peas in a pod.
Didn't you know that everything bad that every happens is always Bush's fault, the fault of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy and of course the fault of the US in general.

I find many things odd and things I don't like, too many contradictions but NINE nuclear reactors down?!
