Very interesting. I guess "sexual orientation" beats out race in the PC hierarchy now. Don't those Africans know there place yet on the liberal plantation? How dare they not keep up with Western notions of "progress" and "tolerance!"

The true classics seem to become even more relevant as time passes: Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. Of course, despite an attempt by some to paint him as a racist he was already hinting at this 100 years ago. I wonder if some new writer will revisit it with a ``inverse Heart of Darkness.''

"***Missing from the coverage, which focused on the issue of homosexuality, is the larger undercurrent revealed in this debate. If traditional Anglicans in America do split off and place themselves under the authority of African prelates, it will represent the first visible, public example of what will likely be a large historical movement of reverse colonialism: the transfer of religious prestige and power from the dwindling West to the surging orthodox Christian communities in Africa and South America.***"

There is nothing wrong with this. The African Episcopal church remains faithful to God's Word - and THAT is what it's all about.

We only 'see' black folk who walk to the Left. When they turn Right they become invisible.

Traditional Anglicans are calling for a second Anglican province in America, begging to be allowed to place themselves under the leadership and authority of African archbishops.

The Anglican Mission in America is already there. My father, now a former Episcopal minister, has formed a congregation under AMiA.

the transfer of religious prestige and power from the dwindling West to the surging orthodox Christian communities in Africa and South America.

A wonderful development and a tribute to the thousands of missionaries who gave their lives in the third world. They have proven that their faith is truly universal.
