Anything can be entered in the congressional record (and often is) I don't doubt the aims, but what is the provenance of the list - sounds like our good representative lifted them from the book "the naked communist" - anyone know anything about the author of the book and where this list ultimately came from and all that?

If you will read the reports of Congressional hearings together with available books by ex-Communists, you will find all of these Communist objectives in detail. You will come to understand how many well meaning citizens have become involved in pushing forward the Communist program without realizing it. They became converted to Communist objectives because they accepted superficial Communist slogans. Soon they were thinking precisely the way the Commies wanted them to think.

The biggest mistake of the West has been allowin itself to drift into a state of mental stagnation, apathy, and inaction. We have been thinking the way Commies want us to think. Our founding fathers would be alarmed to learn how confused many of our people have become over such fundamental problems as coexistence, disarmament, free trade, UN, recognition of Red China, etc. Instead of maintaining a state of intellectual vigilance we have taken Communist slogans as the major premise for too many of our conclusions. These are all part of the campaign to soften America for the Final Takeover. It should be kept in mind that many loyal Americans are working for these same objectives because they are not aware that these obj. are designed to destroy us.

Dr. W. Cleon Skousen has had a rich and multifaceted life. He was an FBI agent for many years, then the police chief of Salt Lake City, Utah, author of over 30 books and a full professor at Brigham Young University. After retiring he founded the National Center for Constitutional Studies, the nation’s leading organization in teaching seminars on the Founding Fathers and the U.S. Constitution. These courses were solid, scholarly and conservative (The text is a hefty seven pounds.)

Now ninety, he still writes a column and heads up a close-knit family of eight children and 50 grandchildren.

And here's a tribute from his nephew, Mark Skousen, the well-known conservative author, describing how his uncle influenced the writing of his famous economics text. Fascinating!
