Dr Laura is a fruitcake. Her five second answer to caller's question is dangerous.
She cannot even handle her own problems ie her mother's death, her son's teenage problems nor her own religious convictions.
But, yet, she can claim to solve your problems.
Turn her off!

her son's teenage problems I dod not hear of those. Has he been arrested or something? She might have talked about him on the air. All teens have problems: real or self-manufactured I suppose. Has her son been in the news?

She cannot even handle her own problems ie her mother's death, her son's teenage problems nor her own religious convictions. As I see it, that's all the more reason to keep her in prayer. She's going through a transition and could certainly use our support.

Amen. She is unlistenable. While her intent is good, gads, her dripping "moral authority" is sickening.

I have a friend that temped for a few weeks after she moved to LA....
First temp job she had was as an audience member for the disaster that was the Dr. Laura TV show...
Yes, they couldn't get an audience, so the ENTIRE audience for that show was comprised of paid temp workers....

She cannot even handle her own problems ie her mother's death,Well, that's interesting, isn't it? I've heard that before, but, who knows why? Who knows how her mother treated her? If her mother treated her like a piece of dirt, should she have gone crawling back for more? Nobody knows the "why" of that.
From my own experience, I'd say no. If my own parents spent my life trying to convince me I wasn't worth anything, sooner or later I'd tell them to stuff it. In the end, I would "honor" them by taking care of them in their declining years. Wouldn't mean I'd have to swallow a daily batch of negativity in the process. Some parents understand kids are a big responsiblity. And some parents treat their kids as an afterthought. Consequently, you reap what you sow.

I don't think she's ever claimed to be able to "solve your problems."
There is no doubt Dr. Laura posseses an incredible amount of wisdom.
No one's perfect, and no one has perfect relations with others.
Instead of attacking the messenger, maybe you should heed the message.

Dr Laura is a fruitcake. Her five second answer to caller's question is dangerous. ... Turn her off! Right!
She is a hypocrite and a fraud, a moral poser. She doesn't believe half of what she says, and her absence of genuine moral center makes her advice dissonant and sometimes self-contradicting.

Funny, it took me five seconds to read your rant. It seems that you are the fruitcake and should be the one who gets turned off. No basis for your arguments other than name calling!
