I don't really think it's the end for Arnold. It might be better if a republican doesn't win, considering the state the state of California is in. Whoever gets in is going to have one horrible job. A republican with a democrat legislature is going to be a disaster. Remember they have a HUGE deficit and it's going to take some serious work and a lot of cooperation to get it straightened out.

170 candidate packagesAnd that's exactly the reason why someone with Arnold's immediate name recognition would prevail.
Too bad.
If the Republicans screw up this recall, heaven help us...and Bush in 2004.

The ONLY thing that matters is Bush's re-election in 2004. Having Arnold as CA's governor would help that end enormously. The Republicans, and not the Dims, would be able to define the debate.
California would do just fine with a Republican at the helm. (It couldn't POSSIBLY do any worse.)

If that were the only thing that mattered, there would be only ONE republican running. The thing is, if more than that runs, there may well be another democrat.

Villaraigosa, a drooling East Los Angeles MEChA alumni and advocate for vile border-jumping criminals, ran against DICK for Mayor of Los Angeles. He had his butt whipped by fellow DemMoron James Hahn, who later went on to declare L.A. a 'Mexican city'.I haven't watched This Week with George Stephanopolous since the diminutive twit took over from Sam and Kookie. One of the last things I remember him doing on the show was a fawning profile of Villaraigosa, stating that he was a symbol of the changing faces of leadership in America.
He showed allegedly bigoted campaign commercials from the Hahn camp, and implied that whether or not Villaraigosa was elected would indicate whether Los Angeles was a racist city. But there's one thing he didn't do -- disclose that Hahn is a Democrat also.

The ONLY thing that matters is Bush's re-election in 2004. Oh, please.
Firstly, Bush will be reelected easily, deservedly or otherwise.
Secondly, California has major problems right now that would not be solved by a liberal like Schwarzenegger or Riordan. As pointed out above, Riordan is quite possibly more liberal than Davis.

I am sorry, but this kind of solid, rational, logic (GWB 04 should be the only goal) is not allowed on any freeper posting... you must make lots of foolish irrational statements.... like I'd rather have Davis then Riordan.... Nick Jesson for Governor... Pat B for governor...ship all of em back to where they came from...What the La Times writes about Issa is all true nevermind that they get all their info from Barbara Boxer... Go McClintock, even though he has zero money and totally choked by 16000 votes on his last election (duhhh)..... or lets give bill simon another chance he is one of us( domestic partner benefits at his company)....etc.etc.etc
